LG today announced a major new software update for the LG G6 and also unveiled a more feature-packed version of the handset, dubbed LG G6 Plus. The new Plus variant of the handset features the same internals as the regular G6 but comes with 128GB of storage space and a Hi-Fi Quad DAC.

LG is happy with its latest flagship smartphone, the G6, and it wants to show customers that it stands by its product by extending its manufacturer’s coverage.
The latest report from Consumer Reports ranks Samsung’s latest flagships, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, for their excellent camera, display, and battery life. The report crowned Galaxy S8+ as the top smartphone, with its smaller sibling – Galaxy S8 – coming in second.
LG today jumped to the mobile payment service bandwagon with LG Pay. For now, the company’s payment service is only available to LG G6 owners in South Korea. The company is rolling out a software update for the handset in the country to enable the functionality.
The full retail price of the LG G6 is over $650, but Best Buy has a limited-time promotion that sees the price drop quite a bit.
After a torrid year living down the interesting but horribly flawed G5, LG has seemingly come good with this, the G6 – it does seem as though the even numbered in the ‘G’ range are always the ones to go for. True, there’s nothing spectacular here, but then that’s kind of the point, this is LG doubling down on just doing everything well rather than striking down a new blind alley… again.
